Condition of and threats to conservation assets

Workshop Aims:
- Review the outcomes of CAP workshop #1 and aims of the workshop series
- Undertake a rapid condition assessment for each conservation asset (considering factors such as total area, flora / fauna condition, landscape context and ecological processes)
- Rapid threat assessment for each conservation asset (considering factors such as area and severity of impact)
- Understanding the process and future involvement of participants in the final CAP workshop #3 (late June)
DAY ONE – Tuesday 5th May

9.15 am Introduction to Conservation Action Planning & Workshop Series (Todd Berkinshaw)
9.30 am Review outcomes of CAP Workshop # 1 and aims for today – software (Todd Berkinshaw)
10.00 am Data to Support Condition & Threat Assessments – Existing Data / Surveys / Reports / Mapping (Barry Heydenrych and Piers Higgs)
10.30 am BREAK / MORNING TEA
11.00 am Assessing Condition of Conservation Assets – Introduction to CAP Theory & Software (Todd Berkinshaw)
11.15 am Group Exercise 1 – General Condition of Conservation Assets & Reasons (Break out Groups)

- Rivers, Creeks & Floodplains on open plains
- Wetlands (including marshes)
- Springs and Pools associated with gorges and ranges
- Groundwater dependent ecosystems and aquifers
